The St. Luke's College of Medicine - William H. Quasha Memorial, founded in June 1994 is named after a physician, St. Luke, the writer of the 3rd gospel of the New Testament, the book of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles, also a book of the New Testament.
The SLCM Logo is enclosed in a blue corona with its peripheral rotary fringes symbolizing continuity of the academe -hospital mission. Inside the logo are 2 divisions, each representing the apparatus needed in the practice of the art and science of medicine.
On the left-hand side with a green background is the stethoscope, the main armamentarium of a clinician, used in listening to sounds produced within the human body; and the scalpel, used for tissue dissection during surgery or biopsy.
The color green represents the continuing education and flourishing vision and mission of the physician.
On the right-hand side is the microscope, an indispensable equipment in research and diagnosis; and the incense burner, a tool to symbolize the ascent of prayers for the purification of belief in the Divine Providence.
Red is the color of blood that nourishes the body to sustain life and living.
In the center of the 2 divisions is the serpent coiled on the staff of Aesclepius, the symbol of Medicine as a Science.
